The Kiso Ontake Tourism Office is a travel agency located in the western part of Nagano Prefecture around the base of Mt. Ontake. We provide experience-based activities and sightseeing guidance that make you feel and experience the history and culture of the local area; such as the famous Nakasendo Trail which used to be one of the main routes connected to the capital during the Edo Era (started from the early 17th Century). We can also provide a detailed plan to help you explore other old trails around the base of Mt. Ontake. Through walking the Nakasendo Trail or other ancient Ontake routes, you can experience and imagine what Edo-era travel was really like around 400 years ago. You can also experience the local food and woodcrafting culture that developed alongside these trails. We are happy to arrange any itinerary to meet your demand. Please feel free to contact us!
